A man is accused of breaking into the apartment of a woman he used to date Thursday in Austin on the West Side, police sources said.

About 1:40 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was inside her apartment when a male demanded to enter through the back door, Chicago police said. When she refused, the male kicked in the door and flashed a gun at her.

Once inside the apartment, the male went into a bedroom, threw items into a bag and left, police said.

According to police sources, the two had previously been in a relationship.

No one was injured and no one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
