She was in the 10600 block of South Torrence Avenue when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire, police said.

A 38-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Monday in South Deering.

She was on a sidewalk about 2:50 a.m. in the 10600 block of South Torrence Avenue when someone opened fire from a passing black-colored vehicle, Chicago police said. She was hit in her lower back.

The woman was taken to Trinity Hospital where her condition was stabilized, police said.

No arrests have been reported as Area South detectives investigate.
