A man was shot to death during an argument Wednesday in Fernwood on the South Side.

Danzell Jones, 28, was arguing with someone about 1:50 p.m. in the 10000 block of South Lowe Avenue when the other person pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jones, who lived in Fernwood, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy found he died of his wound and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
