Man shot dead in Englewood argument

The man was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Four people were shot in Oak Park Saturday afternoon. — Officers were called to the 6600 block of South Winchester Avenue June 21, 2019, and found an unresponsive 20-year-old man with gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

A man was fatally shot Friday during an argument in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

Jevonte Washington, 20, was in an alley in the 6600 block of South Winchester Avenue when the person he was arguing with pulled out a gun and fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was shot multiple times about 1:50 p.m. in his torso and back, authorities said. The man was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy conducted Saturday by the medical examiner’s office said he died of multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been reported as Area South detectives conduct a homicide investigation.
