Pair of burglaries reported in same East Garfield Park block

Eight burglaries were reported in late June 2020 on the Northwest Side. — Two burglaries happened in May and June, 2019 on the Near West Side.

Chicago police are warning residents of a pair of burglaries reported in May and June in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

In both incidents, someone broke into an apartment through the back door and took property, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

Both incidents happened in the 3100 block of West Monroe Street, police said. The first burglary happened between 8 p.m. May 29 and 10:40 a.m. May 30, while the second happened between 11 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. June 19.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
