Man killed in hit-and-run near Buckingham Fountain

Anthony Alexander Tlahuel, 18, was in the 500 block of North Lake Shore Drive when he was struck by a vehicle.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle near Buckingham Fountain on Tuesday night.

Anthony Alexander Tlahuel, 18, was in the 500 block of South Lake Shore Drive at about 8:47 p.m. when he was hit by a black Range Rover heading northbound, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Tlahuel, who lived in Broadview, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. The Range Rover continued northbound.

No one is in custody as the CPD Major Accidents Investigation Unit investigates.
