A man was fatally shot Friday in East Garfield Park on the West Side, police said.

Henry Daniels, 52, was shot multiple times in the abdomen, leg and back and was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he died, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The shooting happened about 7:20 p.m. in the 3200 block of West Walnut Street, authorities said.

An autopsy conducted Sunday concluded that Daniels died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Area North detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
