A man was killed in a shooting Monday in Fifth City on the West Side, police said.

John Timmons, 30, was found unresponsive in the street with a gunshot wound to the back of his head about 3:06 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Congress Parkway, according to the Chicago police and Cook County medical examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

An autopsy is pending. Area North detectives are investigating.
