Police are searching for a man wanted in an Monday attempted kidnapping in Belmont Cragin on the Northwest Side.

A girl was walking to school about 8 a.m. in the 4800 block of Fullerton Avenue when a man began following her, Chicago police said.

He tried to speak with girl and asked her to follow him into his home, police said. After failing to coax the girl, he continued walking to the 5000 block of Fullerton.

The man was between 35 and 45 years old, standing about 5-foot-2, police said. The hispanic male was about 170 pounds with black, partially graying hair. He wore a black sweater and blue jeans. It was unknown if he had a vehicle.
