A man was struck by gunfire as shooters in two cars fired at each other Friday in Bronzeville on the South Side.

The 43-year-old was outside in the 600 block of East 46th Street before 2:45 p.m. when the vehicles drove past and he heard shots, Chicago police said.

The man was struck in the buttocks and took himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. His condition was stabilized.
