Two people are in custody after a man was wounded by gunfire Friday in Old Town on the North Side.

The 18-year-old was leaving a convenience store in the 200 block of West North Avenue when he heard shots and realized he was hit, Chicago police said.

He was struck twice in the torso and grazed in the shoulder and elbow about 7:35 p.m., police said. He took himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition was stabilized.

Area Central detectives have arrested two people of interest, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Saturday. The suspects were identified by “community intelligence” provided to police.
