Woman critically wounded in Englewood shooting

She was with a group of people when someone across the street fired shots in the 5900 block of South Hermitage Avenue.

A 26-year-old woman is in critical condition after a shooting Saturday in Englewood.

She was on a porch with several other people about 2:42 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Hermitage Avenue when someone from across the street opened fire, Chicago police said.

The woman was hit in both legs and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
