A 17-year-old boy was wounded Thursday after two people shot him in Golden Gate on the Far South Side.

He was standing on the sidewalk about 9:23 p.m. in the 13200 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when two males came up on foot and opened fire, Chicago police said.

The teen was struck in the leg and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. His condition was stabilized.

Area South detectives are investigating.
