Jamirio Martin, 22, had multiple gunshots in his head, neck and upper body, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man was fatally gunned down Thursday in Lawndale on the West Side.

Officers responded to a call of gunfire about 8:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Albany and found the man lying facedown, Chicago police said.

Jamirio Martin, 22, had multiple gunshots in his head, neck and upper body, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Police said there are currently no witnesses to the shooting. Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
