Man shot to death in Harvey

The male, whose age is unknown, was shot about 1:40 a.m. in the 15500 block of Turlington Avenue in south suburban Harvey.

A 33-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday in south suburban Harvey.

Russell Simmons was in the 15500 block of Turlington Avenue about 1:40 a.m. when he was shot, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was pronounced dead about 10 minutes later.

An autopsy said he died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide. Simmons lived in Jeffery Manor on the Far South Side.

Harvey police did not respond to a request for details.
