Burglars target businesses on South, SW sides: police

In each case, someone used an object to break glass and enter the businesses, police said.

Several businesses were burglarized June 2019 on the South and Southwest sides.

Police are warning business owners in Brighton Park, Back of the Yards and Gage Park of a string of burglaries reported last month on the Southwest Side. 

In each case, someone smashed glass with an object to get an inside the business and took items from inside, Chicago police said. 

The thefts happened: 

  • At 4:45 a.m. June 9 in the 4800 block of South Ashland Avenue
  • At 4:40 a.m. June 11 in the 4700 block of South Kedzie Avenue
  • At 3:13 a.m. June 16 in the 3700 block of South Kedzie Avenue
  • At 3:24 a.m. June 17 in the 4800 block of South Ashland Avenue
  • Between 2:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. June 24 in the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue. 

A description of any suspects was not immediately available.
