An 18-year-old man was fatally shot Friday in south suburban Ford Heights.

About 1:50 a.m., Cook County sheriff’s police were at the scene of a large gathering near Diplomat and Woodlawn lanes when they heard gunshots nearby, according to the sheriff’s office.

Maleek Clark, of Matteson, was found shot in a vehicle with other people near the intersection of 183rd Street and Highland Avenue in Homewood, officials said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead.

Another man, 22, was found shot at the site of the gathering and taken to Franciscan Health in Dyer, Indiana.

Sheriff’s police are investigating.
