Five garage burglaries were reported between June 25, 2019 and July 4, 2019 in Gage Park, Chicago Lawn and West Elsdon.

Residents of Gage Park, Chicago Lawn and West Elsdon are on alert after a series of garage burglaries were reported in June and July in the Southwest Side neighborhoods.

In each incident, someone was able to get into the garage and steal property from inside, Chicago police said.

The burglaries occurred:

  • Between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. June 25 in the 3900 block of West 58th Street;
  • About 9:30 a.m. June 27 in the 5500 block of South Sacramento Avenue;
  • About 9 p.m. June 27 in the 6100 block of South Whipple Street;
  • Between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. June 28 in the 5700 block of South Maplewood Avenue; and
  • At 6:19 a.m. July 4 in the 5500 block of South Trumbull Avenue.

Police did not provide a description of possible suspects.
