Chicago Lawn residents are on alert after a series of burglaries were reported at homes in the Southwest Side community.

In each of the five incidents, someone was able to break into the residence and take property from inside, Chicago police said.

The burglaries happened at all hours of the day between June 15 and July 2, police said.

They happened in:

· The 7000 block of South Claremont Avenue;

· The 7000 block of South California Avenue;

· The 7300 block of South California Avenue;

· The 7100 block of South Oakley Avenue; and

· The 3700 block of West 71st Street.
