Boy, 14, wounded in Lawndale shooting

A 14-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Friday in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was standing in a park about 11:30 p.m. with a group of people in the 3600 block of West Douglas Boulevard when he heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago police said.

He was driven to Rush University Medical Center and then transferred to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, police said. His condition was stabilized.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
