A man was taken in custody after a shooting that left a 69-year-old man wounded Sunday in West Pullman.

About 6:05 p.m., a 69-year-old man was in the yard of a residence in the 11500 block of South Yale Avenue, when a 57-year-old man pulled out a handgun and fired shots at him, Chicago police said.

The 69-year-old man was struck in the stomach, hip and thigh, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The alleged 57-year-old shooter was taken into custody and the handgun used was recovered, police said. Charges are pending.

Area South detectives are investigating.
