Three people were wounded in a shooting Sunday in Humboldt Park on the West Side. 

They were on a sidewalk about 4:53 a.m. in the 800 block of North Homan Avenue when someone fired shots from an alley, Chicago police said. 

A woman, 23, was hit in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said. A 23-year-old man was taken to the same hospital with a gunshot wound to the back. His condition was stabilized.

A 27-year-old woman struck in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. 

A man on the scene said the group was having a block party celebrating the beginning of the school year. He declined to be named.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives are investigating.
