A man armed with a knife was arrested Monday after barricading himself inside an Englewood home on the South Side.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 12:55 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Harvard Avenue and found the man inside, Chicago police said.

Armed with a knife, the 25-year-old told officers through a window that he would not come out, police said. A SWAT team responded to the scene and negotiated with the man for several hours.

He was taken into custody unharmed about 5:50 p.m., police said. No one was hurt. The man was transported to Holy Cross Hospital for evaluation.
