A teenage boy was found shot to death Monday in Chicago Lawn on the Southwest Side.

About 10:55 p.m., police officers were flagged down in the 2500 block of West 63rd Street because a person was lying on the sidewalk unresponsive, Chicago police said.

Donoven Hawkins, 16, was found with a gunshot wound to the neck and pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy Tuesday ruled his death a homicide.

Police were seen investigating fresh graffiti on a wall near the scene of the shooting.

Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
