Burglars target businesses on one Lower West Side block: police

Two businesses were burglarized in August in the 2400 block of South Wolcott Avenue.

Chicago police are warning businesses of two reported burglaries in August on one block on the Lower West Side.

In each incident, the offender forced their way into a business in the 2400 block of South Wolcott Avenue and stole property from within, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The first burglary happened between 11 p.m. Aug. 12 and 3:30 a.m. Aug. 13, police said. The second burglary happened between 2 p.m. and midnight Aug. 17.

No description of any suspects was provided.
