Police are warning residents of a series of garage burglaries reported over the last few weeks in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side. 

In each case, someone gained entry into the garage and took items from inside, Chicago police said in a community alert. 

The thefts happened: 

  • Between 4:50 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. July 31 in the 3400 block of West 37th Place
  • Between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. July 31 in the 3600 block of South Artesian Avenue
  • Between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Aug. 7 in the 3500 block of South Rockwell Street
  • At 3 p.m. Aug. 10 in the 3600 block of South Artesian Avenue
  • At 8:15 a.m. Aug. 13 in the 2900 block of West 36th Street 
  • At 8:15 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 3500 block of South Artesian Avenue
  • Between 3 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Aug. 18 in the 3600 block of South Artesian Avenue. 

Two males in a blue pick-up truck were seen in one case, police said. A male in a white van was seen in another.
