A 17-year-old boy was wounded Tuesday when he was shot in Humboldt Park on the Northwest Side.

He was walking about 7:03 p.m. on Le Moyne Street when someone fired shots from the 1400 block of North Avers Avenue, Chicago police said. The teen heard the gunshots and felt pain.

He was shot in the forearm and took himself to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
