Man shot to death in Lawndale

A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday in Lawndale on the West Side.

Elijah Crowder, 22, was inside a vehicle at 1:18 p.m. when a maroon Nissan Murano pulled up and someone inside shot at him in the 2400 block of West Harrison Street, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was hit in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
