A 34-year-old man was fatally shot Friday in Marquette Park on the South Side.

Harvey Adams was standing near a vehicle about 1:35 p.m. in the 7300 bock of South Maplewood Avenue when two people approached him from a gangway, Chicago police said and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. One of them fired shots, and they ran off into the same gangway.

Adams was shot multiple times in the body and was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, authorities said. Adams, a Gage Park man, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to an autopsy conducted Saturday, and his death was ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been made as Area Central detectives investigate.
