Boy, 17, wounded in Heart of Chicago shooting

He was in a vehicle in the 1900 block of West 23rd Street when he was hit three times in the arm by gunfire, police said.

A 17-year-old boy was hurt in a shooting Saturday in the Heart of Chicago on the Lower West Side. 

About 11:20 p.m., the teen was in a vehicle traveling in the 1900 block of West 23rd Street when someone opened fire, Chicago police said. He was hit three times in the arm. 

A friend drove him to the 1900 block of West 33rd Street where emergency crews responded, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized. 

Area Central detectives are investigating.
