Man shot dead in Riverdale

A 28-year-old man was shot to death early Saturday in south suburban Riverdale.

The fatal shooting happened about 12 a.m. in the 500 block of West 144th Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jimmie Rodgers was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:39 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy released Monday found the Rodgers died of multiple gunshot wounds. The death was ruled a homicide.

Riverdale police did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
