A man was arrested shortly after robbing a bank Thursday in southwest suburban Joliet.

He entered a First Midwest Bank branch at 1415 W. Jefferson St. about 9:30 a.m. and demanded cash, the FBI said.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money, but was arrested soon after, Joliet police announced Thursday evening.

Police said the man, who was in his 60s, left the bank before officers arrived and that no one was hurt. The FBI, which had been offering a reward for his capture, said the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

Charges against the suspect have not been announced.
