Boy, 14, shot in Englewood

He was walking with a group of people just before midnight when shots rang out from an unknown direction.

A 14-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.

About 11:50 p.m., he was walking on the sidewalk with a group of people in the 6700 block of South Loomis Boulevard when he heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago police said.

The teen was struck in the foot and taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
