Police are warning residents after a pair of armed robberies were reported in Lawndale on the West Side.

In both cases, the suspects approached someone, displayed a handgun and hit the person on the head with it before taking their property and running off, Chicago police said in an alert.

One incident happened about 10 p.m. Aug. 21 in the 3900 block of West Flournoy Street, police said. The other happened about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 7 a block away.

The suspects are described as two men, ages 24 and 25, police said. The 24-year-old is 5-foot-8, 135 pounds with short black hair. The older man is about 5-foot-10, 140 pounds with black hair.

Anyone with information of the robberies is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
