The 45-year-old man was crossing Cicero Avenue when he was struck by a Maroon Nissan, police said.

A 45-year-old man was killed Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in Cragin on the Northwest Side.

About 3:13 a.m., he was crossing the street in the 2000 block of North Cicero Avenue, when he was struck by a maroon Nissan traveling southbound, Chicago police said. The driver did not stop.

The man, who remains unidentified, was later pronounced dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy released Monday found that he died from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

The Chicago police Major Accidents Unit is investigating the crash.
