Man shot, killed in South Shore alley

A man died after he was found with a gunshot wound to the head Saturday in South Shore, according to police.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter call about 2:55 a.m. in the 7100 block of South Constance Avenue, Chicago police said. There, they found 26-year-old Kendall Henderson in an alley, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy conducted Sunday ruled Henderson’s death a homicide by gunshot wound to the head, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
