Police are warning West Side residents about two robberies reported since last month in Austin.

In each case, three suspects in a vehicle approached someone, displayed a handgun and demanded property or took it from the victim’s pockets, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The first robbery happened about 7:22 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Lockwood Avenue, police said. The second occurred about 1 p.m. Jan. 4 in the 5200 block of West Crystal Street.

The suspects were in a blue Infiniti G35 or a black BMW SUV with dealership plates, police said. One of the suspects was described as 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds with a small mustache.
