A teen boy was shot and killed Jan. 10, 2020, in the 7200 block of South Aberdeen Street.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Friday in Englewood on the South Side.

About 5 p.m., Rasean Green was in the 7200 block of South Aberdeen Street when someone approached him and opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Green, who lived in Englewood, was struck multiple times to the left side of his body, authorities said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:37 p.m.

An autopsy Saturday said Green died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.

Area South detectives are investigating.
