A pair of businesses were robbed recently in Austin on the West Side.

In both robberies, two males found an employee outside the store and brought them back inside before demanding money from the register, Chicago police said. The robbers also stole property from employees and merchandise from the stores.

The first robbery happened about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 11 in the 5200 block of West North Avenue, police said. The second happened about 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 5600 block of West Division Street.

Both robbers were wearing a ski mask and gloves, police said.
