A man was in serious condition after being shot in the Austin neighborhood Friday night.

A man was shot Friday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 40-year-old was standing on a sidewalk in the 5000 block of West Chicago Avenue when another man approached and shot him around 9 p.m., Chicago police said.

He was struck in the right leg and buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

There’s no one in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
