Two women were shot, one of them fatally, Wednesday morning in Oswego Township in the far southwest suburbs.

The shots were fired from the roadway about 11 a.m. in the first block of Sierra Road, Kendall County sheriff’s office spokesman Daniel Briars said in an email.

The women were taken to a hospital, where one of them died, he said. Their exact ages were not released.

A black-colored SUV was seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting, authorities said.

The Kendall County coroner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.
