Man killed in West Lawn shooting

Ricardo Barron, 26, was on the sidewalk when someone fired shots from a black SUV, striking him in the head and chest, police said.

A man was fatally shot Thursday in West Lawn on the Southwest Side, police said. 

He was on the sidewalk about 10 p.m. in the 4300 block of West 63rd Street when someone unleashed gunfire from a black SUV, Chicago police said. 

The 26-year-old was struck in the chest, head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Ricardo G. Barron, a resident of West Lawn. 

Area One detectives are investigating.
