A 16-year-old boy was shot Friday in Gresham on the South Side.

About 8 p.m., he was in the 1500 block of West 79th Street when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

The teen was struck in the arm and taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.

Area Two detectives are investigating.
