Man fatally shot in East Garfield Park

The 25-year-old was outside a store when someone unleashed gunfire from a vehicle, striking him multiple times, police said.

A man was killed in a shooting Friday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

He was outside a store about 3:40 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Fulton Street when a vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

The 25-year-old, identified as Darius Lewis, was struck multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
