Teens critically wounded in Lawndale shooting

They were on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of South St. Louis Avenue when someone opened fire, police said.

Two teenage boys were shot Monday in Lawndale on the West Side.

They were on the sidewalk about 3:46 p.m. in the 1800 block of South St. Louis Avenue when someone unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.

A 17-year-old was struck in the chest and leg, while the other boy, 16, was shot in the foot and arm, police said. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
