Boy, 17, fatally shot in East Chicago

Jayden Brown was shot on Guthrie Street, authorities say.

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting July 2, 2020, in the 4700 block of West Huron Street.

A 17-year-old boy died Tuesday evening after being shot in East Chicago, Indiana.

Jayden Brown, of East Chicago, was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. after being hit by gunfire in the 3800 block of Guthrie Street, according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

His death was ruled a homicide, according to autopsy results released Wednesday morning.

East Chicago police did not immediately release details about the shooting.
