Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert about 11:20 p.m. and, with help of a police helicopter, found the man unresponsive near a parking lot in the 300 block of East 133rd Street, Chicago police said.

Dubois Elementary School is located in that block.

The man was shot in the face, back and leg, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as Dion Hartwell Jr. of West Pullman by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Autopsy results found that Hartwell died of multiple gunshot wounds, and ruled his death a homicide.
