A man was fatally shot Dec. 22 in East Garfield Park, police say.

A man was fatally shot early Tuesday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said.

About 12:45 p.m., the 20-year-old was shot in the chest in the 700 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as being Jim Courtney-Clarks. He lived in East Garfield Park.

Autopsy results showed Courtney-Clarks died of his injuries, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area Four detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
