Boy, 14, shot on Near West Side

The teen suffered a gunshot wound to his finger and was at Rush University Medical Center in good condition, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Tuesday on the Near West Side.

About 7:40 p.m., he was in the 200 block of South Western Avenue when he suffered a gunshot wound to his finger, Chicago police said.

He took himself to Rush University Medical Center, where he was in good condition, police said.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
