A 45-year-old woman was fatally shot Sunday in suburban Calumet City.

Pamela L. Burns was shot about 5:40 a.m. in an apartment in the 100 block of Oglesby Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A few hours later, Burns’ roommate was arrested by Merrillville, Indiana police, Calumet City police said in a statement. On Monday, a warrant was secured to extradite the woman to Illinois.

Autopsy results showed Burns died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

No charges have been filed.
